Your heart rate is monitored by use of a comfortable device that you place across your chest. There is no discomfort when using this sensor since it is very thin with a stretchable spandex strap. I can tell you from personal experience that it will not even be thought of while you are working out. The data from the monitoring device is actually sent to the PM3 or PM4 for processing and display.

The Concept 2 design makes use of a flywheel assembly that you will use to generate the resistance and feel of rowing. The flywheel is enclosed in an appropriately designed housing for safety purposes. You can adjust the amount of resistance with a small lever on the flywheel housing.
